Meet Emma…

Emma is an actor, singer, and as she likes to put it: “a very strong mover”, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been involved with theatre around the Bay Area and Napa Valley since the age of six. Emma attended the California State Summer School for the Arts in 2018 earning the designation of a California Arts Scholar. Emma studied voice and performance under Vivian B. McLaughlin when she was young. Currently, she is studying under Joshua Bailey, who has helped her immensely in discovering herself as a young adult actress.

Some of her favorite roles include: Wednesday Addams in THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Lucky Penny Productions), Mal in DISNEY’S THE DESCENDANTS (Lucky Penny Productions), Tilly Evans in SHE KILLS MONSTERS (Napa Valley College), Olive Ostrovsky in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE (RHS), and, Muriel Plankenstein in MERMAN’S APPRENTICE (Sonoma Arts Live).

Originating A Role:

Emma was introduced to the show MERMAN’S APPRENTICE by a theatre friend. She started listening to the Birdland concert album and telling other people about the cute, quirky show. Unfortunately, it would be quite a while before anything was done with the show. Eventually, Emma realized that she was rapidly aging out of the role of Muriel Plankenstein and decided she needed to take matters into her own hands. Emma worked up the nerve to introduce the show to Jaime Love, a producer at Sonoma Arts Live, during the strike of their production of HELLO DOLLY in 2018. Jaime started to research this show (that’s never fully been staged) and ended up connecting with the writer Stephen Cole. Eventually, Sonoma Arts Live decided to produce the World Premiere production of the show. Emma was honored to get to portray Muriel Plankenstien in the production. The production was a huge success, both writer Stephen Cole and composer David Evans ended up flying out from New York to help bring the show to life on stage. It not only was a crowd-favorite, but it ended up being one of Emma’s favorite theatre experiences as well.
